Coronavirus Response at OLMC

As Bishop Tobin notes today in a missive to all pastors, “Masses throughout the Diocese of Providence will continue to be offered at this time. However, in light of the serious health crisis caused by the coronavirus, the Diocesan Bishop hereby dispenses Catholics in the Diocese of Providence from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass beginning immediately and continuing through Sunday, March 29, 2020. While Masses,(and Adoration and Stations of the Cross) will continue to be offered, individuals should consider on their own whether they continue to attend Holy Mass as long as they do not exhibit any symptoms. This is an obligation in charity that parishioners should take very seriously.” Here at OLMC our regular masses and services will continue. The gesture of peace was discontinued in January as is our custom and out of an abundance of caution the Holy Water has been taken out of the fonts at the doors of the Church. The pews will be sanitized before and after the weekend Masses. Be considerate of others. WASH YOUR HANDS. SNEEZE INTO YOUR ELBOW BRING POCKET SANITIZER WITH YOU. And PRAYER of course is essential. The church will remain open all day as usual. The church is where we should be! -Fr Zinno
